After seeing a man say everything I have been trying to forget about (thinking I was crazy to think it!) my mouth is still hanging ajar. I don't really subscribe to the soul mate magical theory - oh they just magically appear when you are ready.. TA DAA. I believe the transient nature of most relationships nobody is up for the challenge that elliot is talking about here. (alot of) Boys never become men because they are too scared to love or discover how to, its like a game of chicken who is going to run first WTF!! What we fear we run away from and what we desire we run to, I have paraphrased that from a Sam Keen book I recently flipped through and had a AHA moment.
Anyway I thought it apt to post a love letter that a boy wrote to me when I was young and passed over an opportunity for the gift of love like walking past a $100 note hiding on the sidewalk or being given a stamp collection with the $10,000 black swan inside - if only I just dared to look and open it up! Chicken! now I eat chickens forget the vegan skelator look!!
He even put page numbers on it! what an awesome specimen !

This letter was a very timely discovery after having my recent break-up experience almost shattering my self confidence into many pieces and being told I have so many things wrong with me! talk about blame shifting the pot calling the kettle black !! I was not half the person I am today when Dan saw into my soul all those years ago !! So the gift of this letter and his love has helped me to heal almost 15 years later!
I totally understand katy perry's cathartic expression of her break-up public as it was - she had to get it out and express it all and it lent strength to some struggling single mother in outback Kingaroy who bought her CD for her daughters Christmas pressie and I never thought in a million years it would touch me so!! and maybe my expression will lend strength to someone else also - don't open your legs unless there is a commitment in the form of a marriage ring!

2020 UPDATE - reality check : Met up years later with Dan the love letter writer and apologised for my terrible treatment of him and he said he only wrote those letters because no girl had ever said no before so he made an extra effort - soooo dodged a bullet with that one.

You think this is old fashioned but you give the man absolutely everything including your body you are just an unpaid prostitute. Don't give away the cookie cause there are a million women who will and they aint special.
