It's the worst thing that could possibly happen to a narcissist. It often begins when the narcissist, as usual, goes through the cycle of love bombing, devalue, discard, and they discard their most current source of supply or one of them. And then, suddenly, they realize they can't replace that person; they no longer have the ability to obtain the type of supply that they once did. Of course, now the narcissist isn't getting the same kind of supplies they've got before. And even when they try to hoover that most recent supply, it doesn't work.
So, what happens? The narcissistic supply becomes less and less available. They become different; they start to reach out to anyone, anything for supply. This launches all their doubts and their fears about themselves and their lives. They go into sort of a "poor me" shock, and this leads to narcissistic rage, where it kind of just spews out on everyone around them. And before they know it, they might be completely alone, and then they go back into the "poor me" thing, and it's a rotation. Then their self-esteem goes down, their rage comes up, they go into "poor me," and it's kind of an ugly cycle of a collapsed narcissist.
This is the point at which the false self and the real self sort of come face to face. It's sort of "meat," and it ain't pretty. What's happening is the narcissist's facade has been taken away; the mask is off, the narcissist is outed. They are unable to continue to put the mask on; the mask doesn't work anymore. People can now see inside. They might literally start to hide; they might move out of town; they might become a completely different person, or they might just really dig their hooks into everyone who still is in their lives. It's what happens when all the fake "calm, cool, collected" mess is wiped away, and the ugly true face of the narcissist shows.

The problem with the narc personality is that their energetic supply is all about feeding from other people and protecting their rightness and how other people perceive them - and much energy is spent discrediting their victim if they do no comply - even Christians that proclaim to love God go to church; pray; participate in community can be using people for their "energy" supply and what other people can do for them. they are not tapping into their self esteem and identity from Christ but hooked into the narc personality stronghold of fear - control - domination - manipulation - intimidation - Deception - rebellion-pride/EGO worshiping their self -selfish pride can be shyness or outright domination - QUEEN BEE syndrome in females - watch it if they are continually taking flattery and baske in it and not giving the glory to God - celebrities have this network of demons infected in their personality and ex- has- been celebrities even more so. The root is from a core of toxic shame and insecurity that part is seared and cut-off.
Christianese terms like Jezebel and Ahab get thrown around very flippantly without regard to the person they are accusing - the fact that with a real NARC is that it is so much bigger than that it is an actual network of demons working inside and outside in the principalities to keep Gods children in bondage and create total mayhem in the body of Christ.
When you listen to the way people talk to their loved ones in relaxed moments you can sense the spirit working through them. I always ask myself is this the way Jesus would have me speak - we all get tired and cranky at some point and lash out but to be humble and say sorry with eye to eye contact and sincerely ask for forgiveness takes a work of a soft flesh heart that I have allowed myself to be vulnerable and show that I do really care. Communication face to face is key. A text just doesn't cut it !! Take a look if all your relationships are just based on texting and no actual face to face time investment. Texting and email emotional bonding is not real.
The above description from Quora is very insightful but also condemning of the person as narcists' as someone impossible to heal or help. Even though I've heard a few counsellors say that they usually drop narcissists as they will get burn out from them - they are always blaming and playing the victim and will coerce the therapist to agree with them with the sob story. I initially run from these kind of people and just cannot deal with the mind bending oppression that comes with being in their presence as a friend or closer relationship - the constant complaining and griping and prayerlessness is too toxic for me - I have had a few encounters where I have actually had the flood of demonic hosts manifest in the room try to take me out of my body and mind - then afterwards torment me with obsessive thoughts about the person relating to the situation - a real intrusion into my head space and real estate of my mind - literal TRESSPASS and it is usually due to the friend being in complete denial of their part in the interaction and becoming offended with me for some reason that they do not communicate and they hide it in their heart and when I attempt to hold out the bridge of friendship to sort it out ; they are sent into a tizz of forgetfulness and distraction and the friendship dies.
I have been praying lately for God to help me trust him more and release the fear of difficult people and getting done over, used and hurt - so that my boundaries are strong and my discernment is clear of my own issues and the other persons prisons.
PRAYER TIME BREAKOUT
Heavenly Father in the Name of your precious Son Jesus Christ - you are the ultimate Prince of Peace and you know how to do relationship you pursue even when your creations reject you and do what ever they want however they want- you deal with a heartless generation over and over again and you won my heart and you know how to pierce the veils of blindness - Thank you for your Holy Spirit power that trnsforms and I ask you to shine your spirit into my broken parts and heal my ability to bond and do life with the friends and family that you put into my life - give me discernment on the wolves in sheeps clothing and expose them and move them out- But the friends and family that you place in my circle - How can I love them better? How can I be of service and of help? How do I connect and trust when I have been betrayed and used so many times by other broken people.
I pray all this and more and ask to be changed in your Holy presence - All these trials I consider Joy and am thankful for your refining fire - Gift me with more of you and less of my selfish self centred sin nature - In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ AMEN
Also it is next level to be able to hear the Holy Spirit in such clarity as to the questions and how to confront the person with Christs definition of love and firmness.

My yardstick is : IF A FRIEND CAN LIVE WITHOUT YOU BEING A PART OF THEIR LIFE FOR YEARS ON END WITHOUT EVEN A PHONE CALL OR A LETTER TO ASK HOW YOU ARE GOING, WELL THEY DIDNT EVER CARE ABOUT YOU ANYWAY THERE IS NO BOND. REAL CARE AND LOVE TAKES TIME AND ENERGY.
I love reading the book of Nehemiah about how Nehemiah approached the rebuilding of Jerusalem there is a specific order to it which can relate perfectly to how we go about rebuilding our own broken down walls and gates - The city gates cannot open for commerce until they have been blessed in Nehemiah , I think this is the same for our heart gates that have been broken and trampled in relationships and friendships. Unfortunately there are the givers and the takers and a human giver type can get burnt out from all the takers and cannot discern.
